Rigobert Song appointed Head Coach of Chad?

The 39-year old has reportedly been appointed to lead the ''Sao'' after deciding against renewing Emmanuel Tregoat's contract.

Rigobert Song has been appointed as the head coach of the Chadian national team, according to French Sports daily, L'Equipe.

The former Indomitable Lions defender served as team manager of the national team after retiring from football in the aftermath of a disastrous World Cup campaign in South Africa.
New challenge for Magnan?
He has however landed his first job in management after with the Chadian national team after he was relieved of his position as team manager of the Indomitable Lions in 2014, as L'Equipe reports.

The former defender has confirmed that he is talks with the Chadian football federation but but failed to reveal whether a deal has been reached.

Song was spotted in Djamena on September 7 as he watched Chad collapse to a 5-1 defeat to Egypt-he certainly must have taken not of the heavy task ahead of him.

''Magnan'' replaces Frenchman Emmanuel Tregoat whose contract expired on September 30 and the Chadian Football Federation opted against  renewal.

Rigo has a difficult task ahead of him as he bids to put Chad's 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers hopes back on track.

Chad are bottom of Group G with no point recorded from their two games after a 2-0 defeat and a 5-1 mauling from Nigeria and Egypt respectively.

Chad have also been knocked out of the 2016 CHAN qualifiers.
