Nigeria 3-0 Cameroon: Super Eagles tame Indomitable Lions to ease pressure on Oliseh

Nigeria's Super Eagles cruised to a three nil victory over the Indomitable Lions in an international friendly at the Edmond Machtens stadium in Molenbeek (Brussels) - Belgium, on Sunday evening.

Goals from Efe Ambrose, Simon Moses and Odion Ighalo gave a much win for the Eagles and their head coach  Sunday Oliseh.

The Super Eagles came into the game on the back of a two nil defeat to the DR Congo in midweek while the Indomitable Lions defeated Belgian side KV Ostende 3-1.

It is the Lions who started the game on the front foot as they controlled possession without any clear goal-scoring chance.

The Super Eagles however weathered the storm after a quarter of an hour and looked onwards from as Ahmed Musa put Emenike through on goal but the Al Ain man's effort was tame to beat Cameroon goalkeeper Fabrice Ondoua.

The Nigerian dominance was evident in midfield and John Mikel Obi, Ogenyi Onazi and Igbonu controlled possession forcing Sebatien Siani and Stephane Mbia to committing fouls.

The Indomitable Lion's captain was evidently booked with ten minutes left on the clock for a rash challenge before the Super Eagle soared ahead when Mikel Obis free kick found Efe Ambrose who rose higher than the Cameroon defence to beat Ondoua.

Cameroon made the worst possible start to the second half as Stephane Mbia was immediately given his marching orders for a second yellow just one minute after the restart.

The Indomitable Lions however looked to roar on for an equaliser but the Nigerian defence stood steady and weathered the storm as in they did in the first half.

Simon Moses then benefitted from a threaded ball from Mikel Obi before beating the Cameroonian defence for pace and slotting home the ball to give the Super Eagles a two-goal cushion.

The game was laid to bed three minutes from time when Watford striker Odion Ighalo beat the Cameroon defence to head home Echiejile's cross as the Super Eagles recorded their ninth win in twenty meetings against the Indomitable Lions.
