Nyom makes Premier League debut as Bassong stumbles on return

Mixed fortunes for both Cameroonians as Bassong's Norwich City slumped to a 3-1 home loss against Crystal Palace while Alan Nyom's Watford held Everton to a 2-2 draw.

It was not the ideal Premier League return Norwich City's Sebastien Bassong was anticipating on Saturday at home to Palace.

Paired alongside Russel Martin at the Heart of the Canaries defence, the 29-year old found his side trailing 2-0 in the first half thanks to strikes from Wilfried Zaha and Damien Delaney. Nathan Redmond's second half goal was a mere consolation as Yohan Cabaye condemned Norwich to defeat with a third goal in extra time.

It was however a dream debut for Alan Nyom who lined up at right for Watford on their return to the Premier for the first time since 2007.

Away to Everton, the Hornets found themselves ahead on the quarter hour mark thanks Miguel Layun before Ross Barkley leveled with fifteen minutes to go.

Nyom and Watford thought all three points were in the bag when Ighalo put them back ahead with seven minutes to go but the spoils were shared when Aruna Kone equalised three minutes later for the Toffees.
