Lyon return for Nkoulou as Njie nears exit

Olympique Lyonnais has reignited their interest in Cameroonian defender Nicolas Nkoulou as winger Clinton Njie nears an exit, French media report.

Nkoulou, who has a year left on his contract was close to leaving Marseille in the summer , after Lyon tabled a €10 million bid  only for head coach Marcelo Bielsa to veto the move.
Nicolas Nkoulou up for a new challenge?
With the Argentine stepping down on Saturday as Marseille's coach, Lyon's President Jean Michel Aulas has not rejected the possibility of moving back for the centre half.

''We would still be delighted to have Nkoulou with us,'' Aulas  is quoted as saying.

''Nicolas(Nkoulou) told us he was staying with Marseille because of the coach (Marcelo Bielsa)... we would see in the days ahead''

As the French vice-Champions are chasing after Nkoulou, they are also bracing up to lose one of their Cameroonians in the days ahead.

According to L'Equipe, Tottenham have agreed a £10 plus add-ons fee for Clinton Njie. And Lyon President Jean Michel Aulas has moved forward to confirm the reports.

Flying to the Premier League?
''We are close to an agreement but there is no urgency for us," Aulas told RMC.

"We want to complete our signings first but I thank (Spurs Chairman) Daniel Levy to have made an offer that we now consider consistent."

Sources close to Clinton Njie say the player is not keen on a move perhaps due to the prospect of playing Champions League football with Lyon this season.

Tottenham Hotspurs have lined up another Cameroonian, 18-year Basel winger Breel Embolo as well as West Brom's Saido Berahino as alternatives to Clinton Njie
